NIZWA: Oman LNG inaugurated a new learning experience with the acquisition of a state-of-the-art robot lab that will provide immeasurable value to the region’s development as well as create new opportunities for Al Dakhiliyah Governorate and further expand the nation’s education system in the field of technology. The inauguration ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr Ali bin Abdullah al Alawi, Head of Telecommunications Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Fund provided by Oman LNG facilitated the procurement of appliances for a modern robot lab in South Al Dakhiliyah Governorate. The lab is among a series of labs being developed throughout the entire country, and will enhance technical studies and make technology more accessible to students. The robot lab will not only add value to the education sector in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate , but will help to position Oman’s expertise in the field of technology and set itself apart from other nations in the region.

As part of its corporate social responsibility efforts , Oman LNG has extended this initiative to four more robot labs in Musandam and Al Buraimi, and South Al Sharqiyah Governorates.

“Oman LNG understands the importance of partnering with the community and we are happy to continue playing our role as an establishment that offers result-oriented support as a way of improving the quality of life for everyone in the country,” said Sheikh Khalid al Massan, Chief Executive Officer of Oman LNG Development Foundation.

Oman LNG has an ambitious vision and dedication towards CSR as indicated by the recently launched Oman LNG Development Foundation. The Foundation addresses many areas of social development in Oman, but in general comprises four sections; a Community Fund targeting initiatives related to the Sur Community where its world-class, three-train liquefaction plant is located; a National Fund that covers a wide swath of the company’s social development programmes across the nation; a Reserve Fund to address the sustainability and continuity of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility programmes; and finally a Centre of Excellence to develop lasting CSR initiatives through partnering, knowledge sharing, funding and investments.
