Oman hotel occupancy sees steady growth

Muscat: Occupancy rates in three to five star hotels in Oman recorded an increase of 4.4 per cent to reach 57.2 per cent at the end of July 2018,  compared to the same period of 2017, which was 54.8 per cent.


Hotel revenues rose by 8.8 per cent to RO117 million from RO108 million for the same period last year 2017.


Details from the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI) said that the total number of occupants at three to five stars hotels stood at 819,829, of which European nationals (297,677), followd by 219,602 Omanis, 102,626 Gulf nationals, 102, 316 Asian travellers, 35, 923 from Arab and other non-GCC countries, 31,032 from the Americas, 8,983 guests from Oceania, 7,370 guests from Africa and 14,408 guests of other nationalities.
