May 2 - Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, Secretary General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, recently held a series of meetings with administration officials during his recent visit to the United States of America.

In a statement to Oman TV, the Secretary-General stressed that the Sultanate is pursuing a simple approach while dealing with other countries, which is to enter into negotiations without preconditions to find a solution to the problems that benefit all parties equally.

This approach has been one of the reasons for the balanced relations that the Sultanate manages to keep with all countries of the world, including Iran.

He added that any aggravated crisis would be difficult to contain if the main players in the region are excluded from the negotiating table.

During his visit, Busaidi spoke at a seminar at the Middle East Institute in Washington, DC, in which he highlighted the importance of dialogue and mutual respect with the neighbors and non-interference in their affairs as an ideal way to overcome challenges.

He also referred to the importance of peaceful coexistence through an open dialogue, which has been a fundamental principle of the Sultanate's foreign policy.

He said during the symposium that in the midst of the diplomatic crises in the region, the Sultanate remained neutral and worked to bring the views closer to resolving differences.

The seminar was attended by a large number of politicians who maintained keen interest in Middle East issues.
