Oman claim silver at first International Beach Tent Pegging

MASIRAH: Oman national tent pegging team won the silver medal at the conclusion of the first International Beach Tent Pegging Championship in the Wilayat of Masirah. Hamad bin Nasser al Riyami of the Omani team won the best rider award in the championship. South Africa won the gold medal and the Iraqi team the bronze medal. Sayyid Fahr bin Fatik bin Taimour al Said was the chief guest for the closing ceremony of the championship.

Mohammed bin Isa al Fairuz, President of the International Tent Pegging Federation said that the championship was a success by all standards, in organisation and technical aspects. “The championship witnessed strong competition during the three days and a great participation by the local community,” Al Fairuz said. Sayyid Fahr, accompanied by Mohammed al Fairuz, handed over the trophy and medals to the three winning teams and the best rider of the championship at the closing ceremony. — ONA
