Oman, Britain review cooperation in various fields

MUSCAT: The 12th Omani-British Joint Working Group meeting was held at the Foreign Ministry on Thursday.


The Omani side in the meeting was led by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, Secretary-General of the Foreign Ministry, while the British side was led by Alistair Burt, Minister of State for the Middle East at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.


The two sides reviewed the growth of cooperation relations between the two friendly countries and the exchange of experiences in the scientific, economic, telecommunications and other fields.


They also discussed the development of joint work in the fields of education between the two countries and efforts to enhance capacities and readiness in various fields of interest and follow-up.


The two sides held a session of political consultations and exchanged views on a number of current regional and international issues and the role played by the Sultanate and Britain in achieving the goals of international peace and security. — ONA
