Oman beach volleyball team grabs gold, bronze in Kuwait

MUSCAT, June 3 - Oman beach volleyball team (A) represented by Haitham al Shuraiqi and Ahmed al Hosni bagged gold medal at Nizar Ahmed International open tournament in Kuwait. The Oman team (A) defeated Kuwait team 2-0 while Oman beach volleyball team (B) represented by Mazin al Hashmi and Nouh al Jalboubi grabbed bronze medal when they edged UAE team 2-0. As many as 23 teams featured in the Kuwait International friendly open tournament which is organised during the holy month of Ramadhan nights.


The runner up of Arabian championships, are currently continuous in its preparation to take part at the Asian Games in Indonesia in August this year, and at the 27th Arabian beach volleyball championship. It is planned that Oman beach volleyball stars will have a camp in Spain. Later, the team will travel to participate at the 27th Arabian Beach Volleyball Championship and another international round ranked under two stars in Aghadeer city in Morocco. Also, the Oman team will take part at Star2 international tournaments in Singapore in June.


The fourth placed at Star-1 championship, are keen to record best results for the Sultanate in coming main international participations.Haitham al Shuraiq, Ahmed al Hosni, Mazin al Hashmi and Houd al Jalboubi will represent Oman’s beach volleyball team in different championships including at the Asian Games in Jakarta. Oman national beach volleyball teams (A & B) were positioned as second in the last two editions of the Arabian beach volleyball meets. Also, Oman team finished in the fourth place when they hosted the Star1 beach volleyball championship
