MUSCAT, June 6 – Oman beach handball team will undergo a comprehensive training before the Beach Handball World Cup in Russia from July 23 to 29. Oman team, coached by Hamood al Hasani, will be helped by the presence of the Iran team which is in the Sultanate for an external camp. In the friendly matches, Iran won the first two matches and Oman the third match. The fourth match is expected to be played this week. The experienced head coach Al Hasani plans to make the Oman team have as many internal camps as possible and an external camp in Croatia prior to the tournament.
Also, the external camp will include a number of international friendly matches against some of the strong teams expected for the World Cup. “Oman beach handball team is ranked as one of the top teams at Asian level. Reaching the World Cup for the seventh time is an indication of Oman’s top performance in this game. We are looking forward to clinch the title for the first time. We reached the runner up position several times,” Moosa al Balushi, General Secretary at Oman Handball Association, said “National beach handball team players have started their internal camp in May. A long external camp in Croatia will begin from July 1 to 21 and it includes a series of friendly matches,” Al Balushi added.
