Oman bags silver at world tent pegging qualifiers

Muscat: Oman won silver at 2018 ITPF Tent Pegging World Cup qualifiers, which began in Salalah on Tuesday. Yemen won gold while Jordan bagged bronze medal. The medals were presented by Shaikh Saad bin Mohammed al Saadi, Minister of Sports, in the presence of Shaikh Khalid bin Omar al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service and officials of Oman Equestrian Federation. Besides Oman, Britain, Yemen, Jordan and Qatar are vying for three spots in the World Cup, scheduled to be held in Moscow, Russia, next year. It is the first of the four qualifiers, arranged by the International Tent Pegging Federation (ITPF), to pick ten best teams for the World Cup besides hosts Russia. The next three qualifiers are scheduled next year in Sudan (January), Australia (January) and Saudi Arabia (February).
