Oman badminton, squash and fencing committees set up

MUSCAT, Jan 30 - The Ministry of Sports Affairs has set up three new committees including Oman Squash Committee (OSC), Oman Badminton Committee (OBC) and Oman Fencing Committee (OFC).
The ministerial decision of launching the new committees was approved by Shaikh Saad Mohammed al Saadi, Minister of Sports Affairs, affirming the ministry’s strategy to develop the individual sports in the Sultanate. Also, it is inline with keeping up the international development of sports.
The committees for the predominantly individual sports is expected to open new horizons for the youth to develop their skills to participate in regional and international level to raise the Sultanate flag and achieve top results.
The Oman Squash Committee is chaired by Fahad Hamed al Hinai with membership of Tahir al Mashari, Tahir al Barwani, Mohammed al Hinai and Ismail al Kindi as secretary general of the committee.
The Oman Badminton Committee is presided over by Dr Badriya al Hadabi with membership of Ahmed al Mafraji, Mohammed al Shibli, Khalifa al Majrafi and Ishaq al Hasani as secretary general.
The Oman Fencing Committee is headed by Khalid al Shuaibi with membership of Khalid al Rajhi, Rumaitha al Busaidi, Ahmed al Adawi and Sameera al Shukaili as secretary general.
The ministerial decision calls on the committees to prepare the necessary regulations to organise the structure of these sports bodies.
