MUSCAT: Oman Development Bank (ODB) approved 3,984 development loans during the first eight months of 2017 that worth RO 38,736,497.
The loans come as part of the Bank’s plans to enhance economic diversification being pursued by the Government, strengthen the private sector’s efforts to invest through provision of finance for development, productive and service projects, as well as absorbing the national cadres. The industry sector comes first in terms of development loans volume with 1,442 loans for industrial investment that constitute 36 per cent of the total number of loans granted by the Bank. The loans worth RO 16,652,650. The fisheries sector came second with 1,152 loans. — ONA
