MUSCAT, NOV 21 -

Trade powerhouse Octal received the Authorised Economic Operator Certificate (AEO) from the Directorate General of Customs, providing it with cutting-edge benefits across its supply chain.

The AEO will enable Octal to elevate its manufacturing prowess, enhance its import and export portfolio, and increase the strategic value of its trade management operations in over 140 markets worldwide.

The company received the certificate as a result of its strong track record of customs compliance and security standards.

Colonel Khalifa al Syiabi, Director- General of Customs said, “Octal is one of the first private sector companies in Oman to obtain the Authorised Economic Operator Certificate after demonstrating a strong track record of customs compliance, processes and systems.

The programme is a trade facilitation measure that recognises reliable operators and encourages best practice in the international supply chain, prevent disruptions to the flow of goods, offer local companies a competitive advantage, and most importantly, position Oman as a secure trading hub.”

Amer Ali Hubais, Manager of Governmental Affairs at Octal, said, “Receiving the Authorised Economic Operator certification cements our role as a trusted trading partner that constantly improves supply chain processes, benefiting our long list of customers around the world. It reinforces our commitment to implementing and streamlining the mandates of the Directorate General of Customs across the business community in Oman. We also look forward to growing this partnership and help benchmark excellence throughout all trading sectors in full alignment with Oman’s 2040 Logistics Strategy.”

Hubais added, “Having this certificate offers us a gateway to greater opportunities in every market we operate in. With that said, it also positions Oman as a burgeoning trading hub and a business-friendly destination.”

The AEO programme was implemented by Royal Oman Police at the Directorate General of Customs.
