OCT Maabela, Ideal, Maxitech and Danmark all post victories

MUSCAT: Mansoor Kulangara’s unbeaten 56 saw Oasis Water to a thrilling 4-wicket win over OCT Maabela in an E Division game at Muscat Municipality ground 3 in Al Amerat.


Opting to bat first, OCT Maabela scored 160 for 7 in its quota of 20 overs thanks to Shareef Al Balushi’s brilliant 69 off 46 balls. Asif Abdul Al Balushi batted well too for his 39-ball 52. Ratheesh Parambil took 2 for 33.


Fighting back from being 74 for 4 in the 8th over, Oasis Water reached the target in 18.2 overs, scoring 164 for 6 with Mansoor top-scoring with a strokeful fifty. Nazar Karikalakath contributed 36 valuable runs. Jahad Al Balushi and Shareef Al Balushi bagged two wickets each.

Ideal down NBO Muzn


Ideal International’s E Division campaign started on a winning note with a thrilling one wicket victory against NBO Muzn at Muscat Municipality ground 2.


Batting first, NBO Muzn posted a healthy total of 161 for 7 in 20 overs, Umamaheshwararao being the top-scorer with a solid 55 not out off 34 balls. Varun Sirohi scored 24. Wasim Abdul Karim and Manoj Jangid took two wickets each.

After a nail-biting chase, Ideal registered a close one wicket victory off the last ball of the final over. Haneef Jamaluddin remained unbeaten on 35 to see his side to safety. Akbar Shaikh batted well too, scoring 34 off 20. Ashish Kumar and Fizan picked up three and two wickets respectively.

Maxitech down Mani Azad


Raghunath Masanam hit a timely 34 to help Maxitech International to a 3-wicket victory against F Division rival Mani Azad International.


Chasing 175 to win, Maxitech achieved the target in 19.4 overs. Rahul Ramachandran was the other main scorer with 25 off 13.

Devender stars in big win


for Danmark


All-rounder Doresh Devender’s superb century powered Danmark to a huge 90-run win over Jotun CT in a G Division game at Muscat Municipality ground 4.


Batting first, Danmark posted 233 for 7 in 20 overs with Devender hitting 111 off only 50 balls. Ahmed Muhammed contributed 33 off 18. Geo James claimed 3 for 28.


Jotun failed to put up a decent fight and was dismissed for 143 in 16.1 overs despite Amal Raj’s 45-ball 73. Junaid Yousuf was the pick of the bowlers taking 5 wickets for just 16 runs. Deevender bagged 2 for 41.


Brief scores (G Division): Danmark 233 for 7 in 20 overs (Doresh Devender 111 – 18x4, 3x6, Ahmed Muhammed 33 – 3x4, 1x6, Abhimanyu Bhatti 32 – 3x4. Geo James 3-28, Roymon Basil 2-46) thrashed Jotun CT 143 all out in 16.1 overs (Amal Raj 73 – 9x4, 2x6. Junaid Yousuf 5-16, Doresh Devender 2-41) by 90 runs.
