MUSCAT: Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), in cooperation with the General Federation of Oman Trade Unions (GFOTU) will organise today a seminar entitled “Social Responsibility: Consolidation of Rights and Development of Work and Sustainable Development” under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser al Bakri, Manpower Minister. A number of experts and specialists in the field of social responsibility from both inside and outside the Sultanate will participate in the seminar, which will include in its programme a number of relevant working papers.
The award aims to spread the culture of social responsibility, to highlight the unique role of institutions and companies in this aspect, encourage positive towards the commitment to economic, social and environmental aspects, enhance the effort of sustainable development and to motivate and recognise the performance of private companies in the field of social responsibility and encourage innovation in this area. — ONA
