OCCI holds discussion on draft SMEs law

MUSCAT: Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) on Tuesday organised a panel discussion to study draft SMEs law in the presence of Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, OCCI Chairman, businessmen and businesswomen. The panel discussion touched the programme presented by the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Development (Riyada) to the OCCI.


The programme aims to achieve several goals that include availing an appropriate environment for the development of enterprises and facilitating access to funding and services from government institutions, supporting companies and financing agencies, as well as coordinating efforts of all relevant parties to develop enterprises, supporting them in the development of their business and facilitating the procedures without prejudice to the laws in force.


During the meeting, opinions of businessmen and businesswomen on the law and the challenges facing them were taken into consideration.


Businessmen and businesswomen were requested to support SMEs owners and providing facilities to them.


The attendees also pointed to the need to activate the role of entrepreneurship card, so that they enjoy privileges that benefit SMEs owners.
