MUSCAT: As part of their ongoing awareness initiatives, the Oman Cancer Association put up stalls and publicity roll-ups at a recent Open Day event at Muscat College in Bausher.
The awareness initiative is primarily targeting young people.
OCA representative Saada al Esry says students are a major source of synergy and action; their voice cannot be ignored. With proper direction, these young people are capable of transforming positive thought into positive action.
She says students play a major role in spreading awareness about the various cancers prevalent in Oman, particularly breast cancer and pre-emptive measures to check its spread.
Later, Dr Bashim al Bahraini, the Director of the National Oncology Department at the Royal Hospital, presented a memento to the Dr Ahmed bin Abdullah al Ghazali, Chairman of Muscat College.
