Bawader International, a company assigned to manage the Nizwa Fort, has given a makeover to this popular destination in the sultanate. Visitors are now welcomed with the sounds of traditional Omani music, Folk Arts and popular cuisine.

The fort has dedicated corners for cuisine, pottery products, traditional Omani folk games and a store selling antiques and souvenirs.

The castle will continue to offer activities in the coming days and the company publishes these schedules through social networking sites Facebook and Twitter at @Nizwfortoman. It is planning to launch a website for this project with online booking services.

The company said that Nizwa Fort is open to visitors from Saturday to Thursday between 8am and 6pm, and on Friday from 8am to 11:30am and from 1.30pm to 6pm.

The entrance fees are RO2 for Omanis and RO1 for children aged between 6 and 12.. For non-Omanis, charges are RO5 for adults and RO3 for children.  For children below 6 years of age it is free .
