All organizers of conferences, seminars and lectures must apply to the Ministry of Commerce at least three months before the event. The ministry said in a statement that some businesses and companies have been organizing conferences and seminars, training and consulting in various fields and hosting some lecturers from within and outside the Sultanate without approval from the reference to the competent authorities.

The Ministry urged all institutions to submit their application to the Ministry at least three months prior to the event, so that the applications can be considered and processed accordingly. It will be impossible to consider applications that do not meet the requirements or do not comply with the specific deadline.

The applications should include:

The titles of the topics to be discussed, the names of the lecturers both within and outside outside the Sultanate and the location and duration of the organization.

The ministry requested all owners and management of hotels and various conference halls in the Sultanate in which such events are held not to allow such programmes unless they are authorized by the concerned authorities in the Sultanate.

The ministry said that in cooperation with other concerned authorities, it will stop the organization of unlicensed events and take the necessary legal procedures in this regard.
