Nizwa, Nov 21 - Nizwa Faculty of Applied Sciences (CAS), represented by the Fine Arts Group, organised an event to commemorate the 47th National Day at Nizwa Grand Mall on Sunday.

Academic staff members, academic and administrative support, and students attended the event.

The ceremony included a number of activities which began with a poem recited by Ali bin Mohammed al Toobi expressing his love for the homeland and his pride in belonging to Oman.

It was followed by a song, ‘love of the homeland’, by Laith al Sariri and Ahmed al Buraiki. Hamoud al Rawahi and Maher al Ameri, poets from the Poetry Council of Izki, recited some poems.

Al Asalah, a folk art band, showcased the Al Razha Art, and some traditional arts.

The event also included a corner for children expressing their love for the homeland, drawing on the faces of children, as well as a corner for painting and photography, which included landscape painting and Omani heritage.

A drawing and photography exhibition was also held.

The celebration, an interactive event, attracted a large audience. On the occasion, Bushra al Abri, a student and head of Fine Arts Group, thanked all those who contributed for the success of this event, including poets, organisers and supporters.
