By Lakshmi Kothaneth — MUSCAT: Jan. 10 - Apollo Hospital Muscat will open two super-specialty clinics — Paediatric Urology and Reproductive Medicine — in association with Apollo Hospitals Group-India. The announcement was made at a seminar organised by Apollo Hospital Muscat. It was presented by Dr V Sripathy, Senior Consultant Paediatric Urologist, and Dr Sumana Manohar, Senior Consultant, Reproductive Medicine Specialist.  “We receive many patients at Apollo India. With these super specialty clinics in Muscat, we will be able to provide treatments in Oman itself in addition to providing patients with follow-ups,” said Dr Sripathy.

Another aspect the experts are looking at is the training conducted at Apollo India. The plan is to develop clinical skills in Muscat. Dr Sripathy elaborated on the recent advancements in paediatric urology and his own experience of high-end paediatric urology work done at Apollo Chennai, which included two successful separations of a pair of pyopagus twins and thoraco-omphalopagus twins. Dr Sripathy will be offering surgical services at Apollo Hospital, Muscat. Dr Sumana Manohar presented the latest medical options in managing infertility as well as robotic gynaecological surgeries.

V T Saileswaran, Managing Director of Apollo Hospital Muscat, said this will officially be the first-ever paediatric urology clinic in the private sector. The hospital will focus on introducing such super specialty and sub specialty services in the Sultanate. He further said Dr Sumana will embark on setting up a high-end reproductive medicine clinic at Apollo Hospital Muscat. Saileswaran said the hospital will have additional clinics. 2017 will see the opening of two more specialty clinics in association with Apollo Hospitals, India. Jithu Jose, Group General Manager-Apollo Hospitals, India, said Apollo Hospitals, India would like to add more clinical bandwidth to Apollo Muscat.
