NCSI to conduct annual survey of FDI in Oman

MUSCAT: The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) will conduct an annual comprehensive survey of foreign investments in Oman during the financial. It is aimed at developing latest and accurate database on foreign direct investment in Oman, which will help the decision-makers.


This will not only help in the planning process, but also will play a major role in creating a conducive environment to attract additional foreign investment.


The findings of survey will help identify the role of foreign investment in current and future economic development. Besides, it will help in determining the distribution of foreign investment in different sectors, as well as show the extent of its impact in the Sultanate.


Further, the survey will help provide an accurate information about the impact of foreign investment on the country’s economy in the areas of manpower, exports, imports and international services.


The survey will be carried out by using an electronic system dedicated to such work. It is available on the official website of the centre (www.ncsi.gov.om) where the establishments, which are included in the survey, will be provided with user name and password through email to make the whole process easy and lessen the burden of companies.


The data, which will be collected through the survey, will be strictly confidential and will be used only for statistical purposes, under the statistical law issued by the Royal Decree No 29/2001. — ONA
