National University of Science and Technology wins ‘Best Innovative Product Award’

MUSCAT: Buskom Company led by engineering students at the National University of Science and Technology won the BP Oman’s Award for best innovative product of universities and colleges for the year 2018 in a competition among 93 student companies.


The company has gone through the stages of assessment done by Injaz Oman during the past nine months, where the competition was judged by Dr Ali al Shethani, Abdullah al Jfaili, Adel al Hbaishi and Majed al Amri.


The first is the project of Buskom, an electronic plat form which works as a link between students and bus drivers to organise the movement of transport and communication. The company’s vision is to be a leader in the field of transportation technology. Buskom was among the three candidates for the best student company 2018, and was represented in the competition by: Hind al Hijri, Qais al Jidiani, Mutaz al Maawali, Zainab al Fazari, Shaikha al Jabri, Maryam al Mudhani, Juhaina al Jabri, Muhannad al Mashaikhi, Lubna al Yamani, Umaima al Qassimi, Radheya al Lawati, Rawan al Shezawi, Mohammed al Maawali, Arwa al Qalhati and Ahmad a Mukhaini, under the supervision of Ali al Ghafri.


While the second project was under the name of the company Purefix, which competed with the product ‘Smart Restaurant’, an application that solves restaurant and customer problems and reduces financial costs in many aspects.


This application allows customers to use their phones to order their meals in restaurants which can effectively save time.


This company was represented by Alaa al Balushi, Ahlam al Maawali, Ilham al Hinai, Mohammed al Mujaini, Ahmed al Hinai, Ghadeer al Hadidi, Ahmed al Sinani, Ayman al Masroori and Yahya al Masroori under the supervision of Ibrahim al Balushi.


The National University of Science and Technology congratulates its outstanding students at the Faculty of Engineering for this achievement. It affirms its support for all participations that support scientific research, innovation and development.
