Muscat, Sept 16---- The National Campaign on Breast Cancer Early Detection begins today, September 16, and will run until March 14, 2019.

The National Drive is the result of collaborative efforts by the Ministry of Health represented by Department of Woman and Child Health, along with the Oman Cancer Association (OCA) and Roch Pharmaceuticals.

The campaign that aims at educating the community on the early detection of breast cancer will take off from Dhofar and concludes its journey in Al Dhahirah Governorate.

The campaign’s mobile bus will be driven across the Sultanate’s different governorates to conduct free screening of women in the 40-69 years age group through mammogram.

The national campaign involves lectures in schools, institutes, and colleges, besides organising training workshops for health workers. The campaign’s mammogram mobile unit will examine women at the health centres and polyclinics.
