MUSCAT: Oman’s first National Brainobrain Abacus Competition will be held at Bahja Hall, The Jungle, near Qurum Natural Park on February 14.

Brainobrain is one of the world’s leading skill development programme providers for children between the ages of 5 and 14. It has more than 900 centres spanning over 34 countries including the USA, UK, Canada and Australia. Over 700 Brainobrain children will test their memory and concentration power during the event while competing in different categories. At stake are championship trophies and gold and silver topper medals for the young geniuses.

During the evening session, live demo performances will be held, after which trophies and medals will be distributed. The Chairman of Brainobrain Oman, Zaher al Sulaimani, expressed his excitement by saying: “It will be immensely satisfying to watch these children taking part in this one-of-a-kind event. The exposure that our kids will be getting by taking part in this event will be, Insha-Allah, worth all their efforts. We have been in Oman for the past one year and have branches in Al Ghubra, Al Wadi Kabir, Al Hail, Mawaleh and Nizwa. Although we are at a budding stage in Oman, we are able to train almost 800 children.

We intend to open our new branch in Sohar by the end of February.” Brainobrain Skill Development programme is a first of its kind to develop multitasking in children by empowering them with exceptional skills. It stimulates both the hemispheres of the brain and enhances the child’s capacity to retain more information and recall it whenever needed. It also emphasises on the importance of having the right attitude and skill-sets that the current time demands. Neuro Linguistic Programming is another value addition where children are exposed to different activities to explore the NLP concepts that will help them identify their unique superiority to move towards higher potential.
