MUSCAT: Nama Group, which is engaged in the generation, transmission, distribution, supply and purchase of electricity and associated water services in the Sultanate, on Tuesday hosted the 4th meeting of the Gulf Technical Committee for Renewable Energy and its Storage Technologies. The two-day meeting is organised, in coordination with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, represented by the General Directorate for Standards and Metrology. The Gulf Technical Committee for Renewable Energy and its Storage Technologies aims to assign specific specifications to determine renewable energy requirements and how to deal with them.

The meeting is held alternately between the GCC countries and is held over two days. The first day includes holding the meeting and discussing the themes presented for discussion and consultation. The second day includes a field visit to learn about experiences and share experiences among members. It was decided to organise a field visit to the renewable energy projects in the Wilayat of Al Seeb where the committee seeks to identify the most prominent achievements of these projects and view them closely in order to engage in this area. — ONA
