Muscat Grand Mall opens new wing for visitors

Muscat Grand Mall has opened the latest expansion to visitors on Oman National Day following an event at the new atrium that also features the biggest skylight and a fifteen-meter high display screen at the new ‘MGM Tower’. This screen was used for the first time during the event to showcase the portrait of His Majesty, made up of 20,002 smaller images.
“This screen is the largest interactive screen in the Europe, Asia, and Africa regions. The new expansion also includes the largest venue ever in a mall in Oman to host events, exhibitions, and conferences,” added Hassan Jaboub, General Manager of Muscat Grand Mall .
The screen will be amongst the mall’s main attractions and will display weather and news throughout the day alongside mall information and advertisements, including details about the various stores within the mall, and even enable shoppers to connect their phones using a unique app to participate in interactive games during events.
The preliminary shops that will open within the expansion include several locally well-known retail stores, such as Splash, Max, and Babyshop, famous for their clothing and accessory; Amouage, known for its perfumes and fragrances; Shoe Palace, a retailer of top quality footwear and leather items, and Paris Optics, the multi-national optical chain store. The new foreign introductions include the casual dining/café outlet, Chocolate Italiani and the breath-taking Museum of Illusion.
Commenting on the new brands joining MGM, Jaboub said, “Fashion stores are by far the most popular stores at the mall, alongside restaurants, and the new expansion will bring with it a host of new stores and brands to the mall. Each of these eight stores, as well as the several new world-renowned Jewellery, Fragrances, Confectionery, and F&B outlets, are set to open once the expansion gets into full swing and will undoubtedly add to the vast selection of brands available to our valued customers at the mall.”
The third phase of Tilal complex added a total area of 150, 000 square meters to meet the market’s needs of office spaces, apartments and retail outlets. The expansion included 129 luxury apartments, 30,000 square meters of offices, 130 shops of varying sizes, and 1,500 additional parking lots for the mall visitors.
