MUSCAT, JAN 10 -
The main venues of the 21st edition of the Muscat Festival, Amerat Park and Naseem Gardens, opened to public on Thursday marking the beginning of the month long cultural fiesta.
An array of activities, fun and frolic, a wide range of food varieties, fireworks, laser show and many more are awaiting the visitors at both venues, the Festival committee said.
A traditional village called Heritage Village, a large area for frankincense and its products, perfumery, and many more are this year’s attraction besides daily cultural events and talks by eminent scholars and poets.
Rides from different countries, water balloons, stilt walkers and other amusements are assured to keep the little ones busy while the adults can indulge in shopping and entertainment activities.
Besides, a hall with traditional handicrafts, artefacts from Iran, Ethiopia and Pakistan is a sure shot to woo the visitors for its original, classy arts and crafts.
The Heritage Village at Naseem Gardens offer the glimpse of authentic Omani Culture at one place.
Muscat Festival, which runs till February 9, is open to public on all days from 4 pm to 11 pm on weekdays and until midnight on weekends. However, some days have been set aside for fami-lies and women. The details of which will be announced. The entry fee for adults is 200 baisa and for children 100 baisa.
“Events to be offered at the festival will be new and innovative. A whole lot of new artistes, troupes, and ideas will be implemented in the latest edition of the Muscat Festival and it will certainly be a treat for the whole family,” an offi-cial of the Muscat Municipality said.
