MUSCAT: Muscat Club will host a series of activities under the Shababi programme run by the Ministry of Sports Affairs from June to August. Shababi programme, now in its seventh edition, will concentrate on cultural, social, artistic, scientific, environmental, folklore and women’s activities. These activities are open for those under 30 years of age. “Muscat Club continues its preparations to arrange a wide series of youth activities for the club’s members to participate in the programme and utilise the leisure time of young people during the summer,” says Majid bin Ibrahim al Wahaibi, Vice-Chairman of Muscat Club and Head of the Youth Committee.
Muscat Club will commence the first activity of Shababi programme with a cultural event and a poetry evening on June 5. The next event will have a lecture on the topic ‘awareness is a way for success’ on June 7. The club will also hold a community service camp from June 28 to 30. Later, as many as 30 participants will take part in different sightseening areas of Muscat Governorate. Also included are the popular heritage events like Al Azi and Razaha art and environmental activities in July and chess tournaments in August.
