Municipalities Month contests in October

MUSCAT: The 28th Municipalities and Water Resources Month competitions for His Majesty the Sultan Cups for 2017 will start early October under the theme “Continuous Efforts and Sustainable Development”. The competitions aim at enhancing the society participation and promoting voluntary work to provide better services that meet needs of the development process witnessed by the Sultanate. Ahmed bin Abdullah al Shihi, Minister of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources, said in a speech that the Municipalities and Water Resources Month competitions seek to integrate the efforts exerted by various segments of the society. The competitions act as a stimulus for enhancing interaction between the Municipality and the citizen to improve the municipal and water services to meet the needs of citizens and expatriates as well. The Municipalities and Water Resources Month competitions for this year complement the achievements made during the past years in terms of enhancing citizens role in the progress and prosperity of their country. — ONA
