Monitoring devices must, ROP tells shops, fuel stations

Muscat : Royal Oman Police (ROP) has urged all fuel stations, money exchange centres and other service providers to give utmost priority to security and safety rules, which include installation of monitoring devices like CCTVs at their premises,


Buraimi Police, represented by the Department of Investigation, recently arrested two suspects on charges of abuse and assault on workers at a fuel oil station in the governorate.


A source at the Royal Oman Police (ROP) said the defendants managed to escape with cash after assaulting the fuel station workers.


The Department Criminal Investigation in North Batinah had arrested two people for stealing money from a shop in Liwa after removing doors and locks.


They also took away a bunch of phone recharge cards.
