MUSCAT: The Ministry of Health on Tuesday started returning a number of dialysis patients from the Governorate of Muscat to the Governorate of Dhofar after the end of the climatic conditions. Dr Rashid al Badi, Head of Emergency Cases Centre and Coordinator of Medical Response and Public Health Sector, said 125 dialysis patients were shifted with their families in collaboration with the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO). The patients will continue receiving their treatment in Salalah. The remaining patients will be returned back consecutively.

The hospitals in Sadah, Rakhyout and Dhalkhout, as well as Salalah Al Jadidah Health Centre will reopen on Wednesday. The Dialysis Unit at the Sultan Qaboos Hospital was re-operated on Sunday and the main services in the hospital, including the Emergency Department (Adult & Child), admission wards and some of the operating theatres, are ready to receive patients. The outpatient clinics will resume work from Wednesday. A total of 30 critical patients was shifted to a number of hospitals in the Sultanate. These patients will be returned to the hospital later once it resumes full operation, especially the ICUs.
