MoH to hold first Royal Hospital intl conference next month

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Health (MoH) represented by the Royal Hospital (RH), in collaboration with the Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB) and the Oman Medical Association (OMA), will organise in February the First Royal Hospital International Conference. The conference, which is expected to witness a wide local and international participation, is the first of its kind in the Sultanate of its idea as a spectrum of conferences representing most of RH specialties. Participants of the conference will include medical and assistant medical categories from the RH and Sultanate’s different health institutions, the private sector, and associations, in addition to participants from the GCC countries.


A total of 73 scientific sessions will be run by medical and healthcare experts of the multidisciplinary specialisations from Oman, GCC and worldwide.


The First Royal Hospital International Conference will include the specialties of anaesthesia, adult critical care, child health, medical laboratories (microbiology, biochemistry, hematology, and histopathology), medicine, genetics, oncology, nuclear medicine, nursing, obstetrics and gynaecology, pharmacy and medical stores, radiology, surgery (general surgery, surgical oncology, urology), training and studies, and accidents and emergency.


Moreover, the conference will be preceded by scientific meetings and workshops in addition to the parallel meetings and workshops. It will include further an accompanying exhibition of the pharmacy companies and medical equipment. The conference aims to explore the latest advancements of the involved medical specialties, build up regional and international scientific expertise, in addition to viewing the innovative technology, drugs, and device of the pharmaceutical companies and medical equipment. — ONA
