The Ministry of Health has reacted to an appeal for the help made by a citizen undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer in the Philippines. A statement from the ministry said it has been sending citizens abroad for treatment, which has benefitted a number of Omani  patients. The ministry said that the treatment is available within the country and added that there is no sure except surgery and subsequent radiation therapy. It said the medicines and Immunotherapy are also available in the Sultanate for the treatment.

The Ministry said the applications for the treatment abroad are accepted taking into consideration the health interests of the citizens and the facilities available for various types of illness in the country.
