MUSCAT: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) has said that it is following up reports in the social media about complaints by some consumers about the quality of fuel sold in a number of gas stations in North Batinah and Buraimi.

MOCI said that it in in touch with Orpic to ensure that the products sold in the local market are as per the specifications and standards approved in the Sultanate.

MOCI said it will investigate and unveil the full facts on the subject, especially from stations from where complaints have been received.

Orpic on Monday said it has received a number of queries about the fuel quality supplied to some fuel stations particularly in North Batinah Buraimi governorates.

Orpic is committed to supply the local demand of fuels in Oman through its refineries in Mina Al Fahal & Suhar, the company said.

Through its logistic network across Oman, the company reassures the public that all its petroleum products are supplied to all marketing companies with the same quality as per the approved measures and specifications in the Sultanate of Oman, Orpic said.

It added that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry is the concerned authority to deal with the matter.
