Two women (British citizens) died while one person sustained serious injuries in the accident.
MOT expressed its deepest condolences to the families of two women while wished a speedy recovery of the injured person and a safe return to his home country.
The ministry said it is liaising with the relevant authorities to extend all essential help when need.
According to ROP, the accident resulted in the death of the two women and the injury of the man with a moderate injury.
Preliminary information indicated that the cause of the accident was the driver’s deviation from the track and did not have a driving license.
Legal procedures are underway in the case.
“I came to know about the accident after noticing long queue of vehicles on roads near Haffa Souk. Later I came to know that two foreign tourists have been killed in an accident and while the third person is admitted to hospital critically,” said a shopkeeper at Haffa Souk.
