MUSCAT: The weekly report of the joint inspection team at the Ministry of Manpower pointed out that the number of workers violating the Labour Law during September 10 till 16, 2017 stood at 561 including 447 commercial workers, 64 farm workers and 50 housemaids and their equivalents.
The inspection teams caught 543 workers including 240 absconding workers, 237 astray workers and 66 workers with other violations.
The Governorate of Muscat witnessed the largest number of workers violating the law with 150 followed by the Governorate of North Al Batinah with 92 workers. On the other hand, the Manpower Ministry statistics showed that 683 expatriate workers were deported for violating provisions of the Labour Law and the ministerial decisions executing the law. — ONA
