Men in Oman can take driving lessons on automatic cars

The Director General of Traffic, Brigadier Engineer Mohammed bin Awad Al Rawas, met on Wednesday morning at the Institute of Traffic Safety in Seeb with the teachers of driving school in Muscat .
The meeting discussed topics related to driving education, including the announcement of allowing all those who wish to obtain a driving license to choose between the automatic and the normal transmission.
Al Rawas confirmed during the meeting that the decision w  as announced in response to the demands of driving teachers and members of the community to allow both men and women drivers to learn driving on either automatic and manual transmission.
This policy will be implemented as of January 1, 2019, based on the study conducted by the General Directorate of Traffic and included all driving instructors in all governorates of the Sultanate. The survey confirmed that most driving teachers looked  forward to this change.
