1-Roast black ground coffee beans in a thick skillet or pan over medium to medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until they are a dark brown all over
Boil the water and add the mixture. Put a couple of cardamom pods and a couple of whole white cloves for ten to fifteen minutes.
2-Remove from the stove and cover the pot. Allow to sit for another 3-4 minutes. You can also add saffron and rose water for aroma
3-Then pour into thermos or Dallah and keep it for
10 minutes. Now it is ready to serve in coffee cups or fenjans
4-One can drink kahwa with halwa, dates and fruits. Kahwa is very bitter and that is why it is served with dates and fruits
Custom dictates one can’t decline kahwa when offered, the cup must only be a quarter full and once finished, one should shake the cup gently as a sign for no more
