Major turnout expected for the 11th OGWA-SPE Exhibition & Conference

The 11th edition of OGWA-SPE Exhibition & Conference, the nation’s preeminent oil and gas industry event, will be held from March 26-28, 2018 at the Oman Conventional and Exhibition Centre. The 3-day forum will take place under the auspices of the Ministry of Oil & Gas with the support of Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) and Oman Society for Petroleum Services (OPAL). Mohammad bin al Zubair, Adviser to His Majesty for Economic Planning Affairs, will formally open the event on March 26.


The importance of the upcoming forum was highlighted yesterday at press conference addressed by: Dr Sultan al Shidhani, Petroleum Engineering Manager of Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) and OGWA-SPE Technical Committee Chairman; Michelle Boyd, Director of Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Middle East, North Africa and South Asia; Musallam al Mandhari, CEO, Oman Society for Petroleum Services (OPAL); Shabib al Maamari, Communication & External Affairs Manager, BP Oman; and Omanexpo general manager Nader Abbas.


Also in attendance were Murtuza Firoz, Executive Director — Vanguard Engg & Oilfield Services, and Hamza Qarooni, Vice-President — Gulf Energy SAOC.


Since its launch in 1998, the OGWA-SPE Exhibition and Conference has grown and known to become one of the most important and recognised oil and gas events in the region.


The SPE EOR Conference, held alongside the OGWA exhibition, will feature a keynote panel session and an executive plenary session where distinguished industry leaders and from the Ministry of Oil and Gas, Oman, will share their views of the industry’s successes and progress made in enhanced oil recovery in addition to enhancing the industry’s contributions to socio-economic developments. Technical sessions will cover the latest advances in chemical EOR, thermal EOR, miscible gas injection EOR and low salinity water flooding and much more.
