Major challenges faced by the logistics sector locally, regionally and internationally will be the centre of all debates at an international symposium to be held here from March 1 to 4, 2017 at Millennium Resort Mussanah.


As many as 75 renowned names in the logistics sector from across the globe will come on Muscat as part of the 3rd Logistics Symposium arranged by Jay’s Club Intl Logistics Organisation (JCiLO) specialising in transportation related shipping and aviation which will construct a comprehensive roadmap for the vital sector under the auspices of M K Pathmanathan, Sri Lankan Ambassador in Oman.


“The event would be an impetus to the Oman’s growing transportation sector. The conference would enhance the facility and ideal platform to showcase Oman’s expertise in providing a range of services in transportation logistics”, says Jayantha Liyanagamage of Jay’s Club Intl Logistics Organisation.


Hosted by the Muscat International Shipping and Logistics LLC, one of the pioneer logistics company in Oman and an active founding member of JCiLO which is a syndicate of multiple logistics partners around the world which runs under one common name, the 4-day conference will also honour leading logistics players while offering a platform for business forums, including one to one meeting sessions between participants, along with country sightseeing opportunities and entertainment.


“Around 75 top CEOs, MDs of different companies from all over the world are coming into Oman for the 3rd Logistics Symposium and best performing logistics companies will be honoured at the event on Friday, March 3”, Jisha Rahuman and Naushad Rahuman, key organisers told the Observer.


Erwin Mortelmans, Commercial Director, Port of Duqm Company SAOC will deliver the keynote speech while other guests of honour will be Deepal Pallegangoda, Country Manager, Sri Lankan Airlines, Varuna Weerasinha, Vice President of Ecu Lines Middle East and Hiruni Rajapaksha, Second Secretary of Sri Lankan Embassy.
