His Majesty receives written message from Dutch King

MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos received a written message from King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands relating to the good relationships between the two friendly countries and fields of the existing cooperation between them in several areas.


The message was received on behalf of His Majesty by His Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tareq al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations, and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan when he received in his office on Tuesday Sigrid Kaag, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.


During the meeting, the Dutch minister conveyed greetings of King Alexander to the country’s monarch along with his best wishes of good health and well-being to His Majesty, and the Omani people further progress.


On his turn, His Highness Sayyid Asaad asked the Dutch official to convey greetings of His Majesty the Sultan to the King of Netherlands, along with His Majesty’s best wishes of permanent success to the him and the Dutch friendly people further progress and prosperity.


The meeting reviewed the good bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and means of enhancing them in various fields.


The meeting was attended by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Secretary-General of the Foreign Ministry, the Secretary-General and Advisers in the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan and the delegation accompanying the Dutch minister.


ALAWI RECEIVES DUTCH COUNTERPART: Meanwhile, Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, received in his office on Tuesday Sigrid Kaag, within the framework of her current official visit to the region.


The meeting exchanged viewpoint on a number of current regional and international issues of common concern, particularly the latest developments in the region.


The two sides expressed the two countries’ keenness to continue supporting the efforts to resolve issues and contain crises through peaceful means in a bid to achieve the international security, peace and stability. — ONA
