MUSCAT: Dr Iain McGee, an Associate Professor and Head of the Faculty of English Language Studies at Majan University College (MAC) recently published a book entitled ‘Understanding the Paragraph and Paragraphing’ with Equinox Publishing (UK).
The text, which took over five years to write, has been described by the editor of the series (Professor Martha Pennington, SOAS & Birkbeck College, University of London) as ‘a monumental work of scholarship’.
She further added to this praise her belief that it will become the ‘definitive text’ on the subject within the field.
Dr McGee’s work comprises a comprehensive critical analysis of research and theories on the paragraph and paragraphing published to date, along with his own new framework of understanding.
Majan University College seeks to focus its research efforts on subjects and fields with a direct bearing on its teaching and pedagogical practices, and this new book is an example of this approach in action.
