MUSCAT, Oct 31 - The Media Department at Sultan Qaboos University hosted sessions on local content via social networks as a part of International Scientific Conference named by Arabs’ society and social networking in a changing world, which is held at the university from October 30 to November 2. The sessions discussed a number of best content types, evaluation ways and criticism, as well as the ethical and legal aspects for Omani content on these networks. The conference focused on representing Omani successful experiences on social media, hosting Ashwaq al Maskari who is a blogger on YouTube interested in social and human concerns.

The first day of the conference involved a number of initiatives such as ‘Al Kalima Club’ and ‘Nasa initiative in Arabic’, as both of them talk about the use of social platforms for cultural and intellectual promotions. The sessions also discussed issues related to social media content concerning ethical and legal dominations that were presented by Basma al Kiyoumi a lawyer and specialised in electronic publishing and Said al Maskari, editor of Al Falaq electronic magazine.
