Fireworks and dance performances heralded this year’s Muscat Festival in Al Amerat Park on Thursday. The festival will continue until February 10.


The festival includes entertainment, arts and cultural events. Al Amerat Public Park, Naseem Gardens, Oman Automobile Club are the main venues of the event.


The 24-day festival is followed by six-day Tour of Oman that will start on February 13. Muscat will be witnessing a vibrant atmosphere of excitement as it hosts Muscat Festival.


The venues will be open from 4 pm to 11 pm and continue until midnight on weekends. The Organising Committee of the festival has made great efforts to prepare for this edition of the festival through studying the proposals and carefully selecting the activities and programmes in cooperation with several parties.


Naseem Gardens will host a range of educational, creative and recreational activities and programmes for children aimed at developing their cognitive abilities, innovations and refinement of hobbies, notably the Family Village, and the Children’s Theatre, which includes a variety of activities for children in a new style, in addition to Entertainment and Arts Park, an integrated park that brings together a wide range of electronic and electrical games, as well as the commercial exhibition, a small heritage village with various traditional arts, performances, theatre, varied interactive activities with the public, as well as fireworks displays. Al Amerat Public Park will offer a variety of activities, including the Omani Heritage Village, in addition to the traditional market that aims at promoting Omani heritage, as well as theatre performances by folk troupes.


Mwasalat has announced special services for Muscat Festival visitors from January 18 to February 10. There will be a service from Ruwi bus station to Al Amerat Park every 20 minutes and also from the Maabela Bus station to/from Al Naseem Gardens every 30 minutes. The services will be operated from 4 pm to midnight throughout the festival.
