MUSCAT: The National Museum held a lecture on ‘Journey Through the Empty Quarter’ during the activities of the National Museum. The exhibition was attended by Mohammed al Zadjali, a member of the journey team at the Learning Center. During the lecture, Al Zadjali touched on the journey and the difficulties and adventures faced by the team, an adventure undertaken by Omani travelers Mohammed al Zadjali and Amer al Wahaibi led by British traveler Mark Evans, who traveled 1,300 km in a desert that is famous for its difficulty to travel through because of its strong sand storms that rise more than 400 metres. The journey took 49 days through the desert of the Empty Quarter, from the Sultanate to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to Doha, Qatar, with a distance of 1300 km on foot and on camels on a journey that is the second of its kind in documented history. — ONA
