Muscat, Nov 18 - A workshop titled ‘Creative Workshop in Charitable and Voluntary Work’ was organised recently by Al Rahma Society for Motherhood and Childhood in association with Oman Volunteer Network with support from Suhail Bahwan Charitable Institution.

It was held under the patronage of Ali bin Nassir al Mahrouqi, Secretary-General of Majlis Ash’shura.

Ahmed Mohammed Abu Haza’a, a motivational trainer from Bahrain, conducted the workshop.

In his opening speech, Yasir bin Ali al Hadi, Head of Oman Volunteer Network, said: “Oman Volunteering seeks to create a healthy environment in volunteer work through effective voluntary programmes and projects that link volunteers to various voluntary opportunities in the Sultanate. It provides necessary sources for all volunteers and institutions working for voluntary tasks in collaboration with government and private entities and creating a collaborative link among them.”

The workshop dwelt on various dimensions. The first was on knowing the “importance of thinking” for achieving innovation and creativity. It highlighted the qualities of a leader.

The second dimension dwelt on a dialogue on significance of creativity and creative leadership and how to express clearly through values and principles embodied in the leader’s leadership behaviour.

The third dimension discussed creativity in charitable work and voluntary work, and its opportunities and challenges, while the fourth included a game to learn about charitable institutions’ elements in creativity. The fifth dimension dwelt on the thinking of people with the main focus on economic behaviour.

The workshop also discussed behaviour management skills through simple meaningful messages to the group.
