MUSCAT: On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadhan, the Ministry of Information launched ‘Knowledge’ competition application through the mobile and PDAs. The competition, which is open for the public, provides weekly awards for winner.
The ‘Knowledge’ application launched recently by the Ministry aims at spreading knowledge about the Sultanate. The questions are sourced from the Omani encyclopaedia, which provides basic information about Oman, such as society, history, religion, economy, politics, media, arts, literature and nature. The competition is also aimed at encouraging the sharing of information in a fun way.
Those interested in taking part in the competition should register their names, civil numbers and mobile phones. They will then be required to answer some questions. Those who provide the right answers will take part in the draw. Participants may take part more than once in the competition.
The names of winners at the e-draws will be unveiled every Thursday at the Ministry of Information accounts on the social networks. The Ministry will also send SMSs to winners. — ONA
