MUSCAT: Khalid bin Mohammed al Zubair, Chairman, Oman Olympic Committee, was chosen as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The decision was taken at the 131st session of the IOC held in Lima, the capital of Peru. The executive office of the IOC had proposed nine new names for the committee, including Al Zubair and Thai Khunying Leeswadtrakul, a member of the Thai Olympic Committee. The two candidates from the Asian continent will be members of the IOC.
