MUSCAT, April 24 - Integrated Tourism Complexes (ITC’s) will be one among the major revenue drivers for the nation in future as they are all poised to shift the 3-per cent contribution to further heights, according to Shaikh Hamood al Hosni, CEO, ITC’s Oman. The two important sectors, real estate and tourism are to grow further inviting local as well as foreign investments and contribute to the double digit growth. “ITC’s will be the future mantra helping the tourism sector generate revenues expected from the alternative income sources and support the GDP in the coming days,” Al Hosni told the Observer on the sidelines of the ground breaking ceremony of the Muscat Bay’s Parkland project on Tuesday.

Shaikh Hamood al Hosni, CEO, ITC’s Oman, along with Bala T Chatoth, CEO of Agriculture Modern Engineering Company (Muscat Overseas Group), officially kick-started the construction by breaking the ground for the project. Upon completion this year (first phase), Muscat Bay’s Parkland will feature 3 hectares of lush green lawns, which include large tree-lined gardens with over 250 carefully selected trees, parks and community areas for the residents of Zaha Parkland. For the Oman market, the Parkland is unique to Muscat Bay in terms of providing a large, central community area that will enhance resort-style living experiences and facilitate the development of an open, thriving community.

“This project is all about tracing and re-enforcing the past legacy with the future that is the resort village,” said Paul Jessup, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing, Muscat Bay. “An array of retail outlets, swimming pools and other amenities, spa, gym, pharmacy and the like are in the pipeline which will enhance the life standard of the residents here,” added Jessup.
