MUSCAT: Indian School Muscat once again returned home victorious with a plethora of medals in different categories and, an all time National Meet Record in Under 19 Boys category 4x100m with a stunning 43.01 seconds to cap it all off. ISM was represented by a 17 member strong team at the 21st CBSE National Athletic Meet held from December 26-30, 2016 at the Manjalpur Sports Complex in Vadodara, Gujarat. The team was accompanied by coaches Johns Abraham and Remya R.

Abraham maintains a remarkable reputation of having coached every ISM team to victory at every CBSE National Athletic Meet since 1996.

Mohammed Hisham, Samuel Afonso, Ismail Khalid, and Mohammed Ali Iqbal formed the U-19 Boys 4x100m relay quartet and together successfully fended off any likely competition to win their race by a considerable margin. They created history by breaking the all-time National Record in the event with a timing of 43.32 seconds in final, but the heats timing was even better at 43.01 seconds. Mohammed Hisham, the starter of the team and captain of the ISM Athletic Team, also emerged victorious with a silver medal in the 200m with 21.87 seconds.

ISM’s U-14 Boys comprising Rajvardhan Jadav, Steve Logo, Naman Rao, and Antonio Biju took the silver in the 4x100m relay in their age group as well, proving to be tough contenders in spite of this meet being their very first national competition.

The veteran U-17 Girls that consisted of Jennifer Catherine, Anakha Anil, Bernice Thambi Raja and Anoushka Punja faced tough competition and were able to claim the bronze medal in the 4x400m event in their age category.
