MUSCAT: Twelve students of Indian School Al Ghubra — Caroline Judi Benhur, Pavithra Kalaiselvan, Shraavani Sastry, Aparna Krishnan Reshmy, Nikitha Thomas, Roshna Sharon, Kshama Mumbai, Khadija Akbar, Sarah Tasnim, Faiza Reza, Alisha Amjad and Aasiyah Jamsheed — participated in the Regional Round of World Scholar’s Cup held at British School Muscat. They were accompanied by Bejoy Kurian and Uma Sanith.

Divided in four teams the students were thrilled to meet and mingle with students of different nationalities studying in various international schools in Muscat and match wits with them in the four different events of the programme namely Team Debate, Scholars’ Bowl, Collaborative Writing and Scholars’ Challenge. ISG teams won many trophies and medals in events. Caroline Judi Benhur was adjudged the ‘Top scholar of the school’. She and her schoolmates brought back a rich haul of gold and silver medals for their debating, writing and quizzing skills. All the four teams have qualified for the Global Round.

The qualifying teams will attend the next round in one of the three cities- Hanoi (Vietnam), Cape Town, (South Africa) or Athens (Greece), where the Global Rounds will be held. The students hope to do well and qualify for the final round which will be held at Yale University, US.
